Book an Initial Readiness Call

Request a callback to arrange a focused 20-minute initial conversation about your requirement and the appropriate next step. Submitting this form does not confirm an appointment or order paid work.

A straightforward first conversation

There is no charge for the initial call and no obligation to proceed.

Written quote before any paid work

Selecting a priced option such as the £495 review only tells us what to prepare. Any implementation or specialist work is scoped and quoted separately.

You do not need technical answers

If you are not sure how something is set up, say so. Working that out is part of the job.

The initial call is designed to understand your requirement and determine the appropriate next step. It does not include technical testing or a written security assessment.

Where a detailed review is required, the Contract Readiness Review is available for £495 and includes assessment of your actual requirements, controls and evidence, followed by a written report. Implementation and other specialist services are scoped and quoted separately.

Not sure? Pick the closest option, or choose Other. This only helps us prepare for the call.

Contract Readiness Review: £495: review your procurement requirements, existing controls and evidence, with a written report and prioritised next-step plan. Implementation and specialist testing are separately scoped.

Request a callback to discuss your requirements and deadline before agreeing the review.

A short summary and deadline are enough. Do not paste passwords, personal data or confidential customer documents here. We agree the document-sharing method and any permission to share buyer material after scoping, before documents are supplied.

Frequently asked questions

Questions transport and logistics SME owners ask us

How much does a cyber attack cost a transport or logistics company?+

Costs depend on the systems affected, the duration of disruption and the support needed to recover. Transport and logistics businesses may face recovery costs, missed deliveries, contractual penalties and lost business. Estimate exposure using your own operations and contracts rather than a generic breach-cost figure.

Do logistics and haulage companies need Cyber Essentials?+

Some customers and tenders require Cyber Essentials or Cyber Essentials Plus. Check the specific requirement before choosing certification. A certificate can support evidence of baseline controls, but does not guarantee acceptance of a questionnaire, a contract or lower insurance premiums.

What happens if customer delivery data is compromised?+

Assess each personal-data breach. Notify the ICO without undue delay and, where feasible, within 72 hours of awareness unless the breach is unlikely to result in a risk to individuals' rights and freedoms. Notify individuals without undue delay where there is a high risk. Document the breach and your assessment, and check any separate contractual duties. Customer responses depend on the incident and contract. Read the ICO personal-data breach guidance.

How long does a cybersecurity assessment take?+

A transport or logistics SME risk assessment is typically scoped over 5 to 10 working days, subject to the agreed scope, access and availability of information. We agree activities and timing with you to minimise operational disruption. Deliverables are agreed before work starts and can include a risk register and a prioritised 90-day remediation plan.

What cyber insurance requirements should SMEs meet?+

Requirements vary by insurer and policy. Your insurer may ask about multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, tested backups, incident planning, email security and staff training. Answer accurately and confirm required controls, exclusions and notification conditions with your broker or insurer. Cover and claim decisions depend on the policy and circumstances.

How often should backups be tested?+

Choose a restore-testing schedule based on the importance of each system, the impact of downtime, recovery objectives and changes to your environment. Test that backups can be restored and that the recovered system and data are usable. Record results, address failures and review the schedule as risks or systems change. A successful backup job alone does not demonstrate recoverability.

Can a small transport company be targeted by ransomware?+

Yes. Small hauliers and logistics operators can be affected by ransomware, including opportunistic attacks. Phishing, stolen credentials, exposed remote access and vulnerable software are possible routes into a business. Disruption to dispatch or warehouse systems can affect operations regardless of business size.

Is DefendVista a large cybersecurity company?+

No. DefendVista is a specialist cybersecurity consultancy. Projects are led by founder Daniel Agyemang Prempeh, with direct contact rather than being passed between departments.

Where is DefendVista based?+

DefendVista Ltd is registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is used for official company correspondence, with services delivered remotely or at client sites.

Who carries out the cybersecurity work?+

Projects are led by founder Daniel Agyemang Prempeh. Additional trusted specialists may support larger requirements where appropriate.
